The functions of the Contact Points are described in Article 4 of the EJN Decision.
- The Contact Points shall be active intermediaries with the task of facilitating judicial cooperation. And they shall assist in establishing direct contacts between the competent authorities in the Member States.
- They shall also provide legal practitioners with legal and practical information necessary to prepare a request for judicial cooperation.
- Finally the Contact Points shall be involved in and promote training on judicial cooperation
