The 21st Annual Meeting of the German EJN-contact points (and 9th Annual Berlin Regional EJN-Meeting) in Berlin on September 14, 2021 dealt with the misinformation and misunderstandings in the context of filing the EAW forms and illuminated the crucial problems in the different member states. Thanks to the funding by EJN we were able to invite guests from Austria, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland, who presented us numerous interesting individual cases and sensitised our awareness of the particular national needs regarding the information to approve a surrender.
Besides we received equivalent reports form the French liaison officer in Berlin and our German counterpart in Paris, with whom the German EJN-contact points are currently cultivating an extreme close and effective cooperation. In addition the German EPPO member, Mr. Ritter, gave a short overview of the work of the new EU independent body and its national centers in Germany. Furthermore we were once again very delighted to welcome Ianina LIPARA from the EJN Secretariat, who outlined for us the work of the Secretariat in the bygone year and informed us about the planned activities for the upcoming months, which are fortunately focused on indoor meetings once again. All the participants were delighted in seeing old friends and tying new bonds in an personal atmosphere after more than 18 month of lockdown-living.
