EIO Expert meeting

Following the recommendations outlined in the Final on the 10th Round of Mutual Evaluations regarding the implementation of the European Investigation Order, the European Commission convened a meeting of the Expert Group on the application of Directive 2014/41/EU and the use of videoconferencing for participation in court hearings from another Member State. The meeting took place on 31 March 2025 and focused on the following key topics:

  1. Cross-border surveillance
  2. Interception of telecommunications
  3. Procedures for requesting consent to use information Report previously obtained through law enforcement channels as evidence in judicial proceedings
  4. Participation of suspects, accused persons, and victims of crime in court hearings via videoconference from another Member State

 
Two EJN representatives participated in this Expert Group meeting: one from the EJN Secretariat and EJN Contact Point Světlana Kloučková, Director of the International Department of the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office in the Czech Republic. Ms. Kloučková delivered a presentation on the first topic, titled "Cross-Border Surveillance – The EJN Perspective”.
