Irish/English There are no set time limits in place for sending and receiving an EAW translation. If an EAW is received without an English translation, it would be requested as a matter of urgency. While Ireland accepts warrants via SIS, they are usually only transmitted on foot of an arrest made from a SIS alert.

Surrenders are only conducted on foot of the offences listed in the warrant. It is recommended that the EAW should be issued for at least one offence that meets the minimum gravity requirement in Article 2(1) of the Framework Decision. Ireland’s legal system does not provide for the possibility to surrender for accessory offences.
