Is this measure possible in your Member State under International Judicial Cooperation?

This measure falls within the framework of Police-to-Police cooperation (the purpose of the measure is not gathering of evidence). The Police authorities have to be notified immediately, generally even before crossing the border. The hot pursuit must be terminated if the national Police authorities so request.

Article 41 of the Convention implementing the Schengen Agreement of 14 June 1985 and bilateral agreements on Police cooperation with neighbouring countries (Germany, Lithuania, Slovakia).

Deadlines for the execution of the request/decision (where applicable)

Notification by the Police authorities conducting the hot pursuit at the moment of crossing the border at the latest.

Concise legal practical information

Special requirements

The foreign Police officers may carry out hot pursuit on the territory of the Republic of Poland solely in accordance with the terms and conditions set by relevant international treaties and bilateral treaties. They are obliged to comply with the law of the Republic of Poland.
